Dr. Andreas NoelleAuf der Burg 4
63477 Maintal
Email: andreas.noelle@science-softcon.de
A data protection officer has not been appointed, as there is no obligation to do so under Section 38 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
2. Hosting and Server Log Files
Every time this website is accessed, our web server automatically collects data transmitted by your browser and stores it in so-called server log files.
The following data is collected:
- IP address of the requesting device (anonymized)
- Date and time of the request
- Requested page or file and HTTP status code
- Previously visited page (referrer URL)
- Browser type and version, as well as operating system
- Amount of data transferred
The purpose of this processing is to deliver the website, ensure its security and stability, and analyze errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The log files are not combined with other data sources and are deleted after 180 days.
Our website is hosted by LimTec GmbH, Halderstr 16, 86150 Augsburg. We have a contract with the provider for data processing on our behalf in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR, ensuring that the provider processes the data only in accordance with our instructions.
3. Email Inquiries
When you contact us via email, we process your information to respond to your inquiry. This includes your name, email address, the content of your message, and, if applicable, your phone number, as well as the time of the inquiry.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures; otherwise, it is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).
We do not share your data with third parties. We delete it as soon as your inquiry has been fully processed and there are no legal retention requirements to the contrary. In the case of business correspondence, we retain it for up to six years (Section 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB), Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)).
Please note that unencrypted emails may be read by third parties during transmission. Therefore, please do not send us any sensitive information via regular email.
4. Cookies and Access to Your Device
This website does not use cookies for analytics, marketing, or tracking purposes.
Technically necessary storage and access processes are permitted without your consent pursuant to § 25(2)(2) of the German Telemedia Act (TDDDG); the subsequent processing of personal data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can configure your browser to block cookies or delete them when you close the browser; however, this may limit the functionality of certain parts of the website.
5. Retention Period and Recipients
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations; thereafter, it is deleted.
Automated decision-making, including profiling, does not take place.
6. AI-Powered Search
On the pages of the spectrum database, you can optionally enter your search query in natural language. To process your input, we use a service provided by Anthropic Ireland, Limited, 6th Floor, South Bank House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, D04 TR29, Ireland. This company is part of the Anthropic PBC group of companies, headquartered in San Francisco, USA, and engages subcontractors—some of whom operate outside the European Union—to provide the service.
Only the search text you enter and excerpts from our own database that are used to generate the response are transmitted. Your IP address, browser type, and other connection data are not transmitted to Anthropic, as the connection is established by our server and not by your device.
The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in facilitating access to the contents of the database. You have the right to object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation.
We have a contract with Anthropic for processing on our behalf pursuant to Article 28 of the GDPR. To the extent that data is transferred to the United States or other countries outside the European Union, this is done on the basis of the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which form an integral part of this contract. Anthropic has contractually agreed not to use the transmitted content to train AI models. Your input and the generated response will be deleted there within 30 days; if the automated abuse check is triggered, the retention period may be extended.
On our server, we record the time of each search, your query, the number of data sheets found, and the response provided. This log serves solely to improve the search function—in particular, to identify which questions have remained unanswered. Your IP address and other connection data are not stored; nor is any identifier created that would link multiple questions to you. The entries are automatically deleted after 30 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in maintaining and improving the database and its search function.
To prevent an excessive number of automated requests, we also record the times of requests for each visitor for a period of one hour. Your IP address is not stored in plain text, but exclusively as a non-reversible checksum. After one hour, these entries are automatically deleted.
To display recently viewed search results, your browser temporarily stores them in local storage (sessionStorage). This data does not leave your device and is deleted when you close the browser tab.
Use of the AI-powered search is optional; the traditional text search remains available to you as before. Please do not enter any personal data into the search field—your input will be logged as described above.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access to stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure, provided there is no retention obligation (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability in a commonly used, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent with future effect (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object: To the extent that we process data based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
To exercise your rights, simply send an informal message to the address listed above.
8. Right to File a Complaint, Encryption, and Up-to-Date Information
You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the supervisory authority of the federal state in which we are headquartered:
HBDIProf. Dr. Alexander Roßnagel
P.O. Box 3163
65021 Wiesbaden
For security reasons, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize this by “https://” and the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar; this ensures that the transmitted data cannot be read by third parties.
This Privacy Policy is current as of October 2026. We will update it if our website or the legal situation changes.
