Comments: The spectrum of neutral triphenylyl shows strong absorption bands in the 200–350 nm range. In the case
of the VUV-irradiated sample, both triphenylyl/Ne and triphenylyl/Ne/NO2 experiments exhibit two strong bands near
457.7 and 490.4 nm, respectively, associated with the formation of the cation (C36H22+) in the matrix.
