Comments: The ultraviolet absorption spectra in solution of several organometallic compounds of Group IV elements of the general type R6M2, have been 
recorded. An intense absorption band centred at about 245 my is shown.
lambda(max) = 241.5 nm (epsilon = 16800; oscillator strength = 0.374).
