Comments: The spectrum of Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) was measured in a 50/50% volume/volume water-ethanol solution. The absorption
maximum was observed at 276 nm (epsilon=1.1 × 103 M-cm). The lambda(max) and the epsilon of salicylic acid were also determined.  
The characteristic values determined were 300 nm and 3.83 × 103 M-cm.
