Wallington, H. Egsgaard, O.J. Nielsen, J. Platz, J. Sehested, T. Stein Title: UV–visible spectrum of the phenyl radical and kinetics of its reaction with NO in the gas phase Journal/Source: Chem. Phys. Lett., 290, 363-370, (1998); doi:10.1016/S0009-2614(98)00537-5 Data: diagram, tablw Energy/Wavelength range: 225 - 575 nm Resolution: Temperature: 295 K Temperature dependence: no Pressure/Concentration: Phase: pH: Comments: Phenyl radicals have a strong broad featureless absorption in the region of 225-340 nm. The phenyl radical spectrum was measured relative to that of nitrosobenzene. Based upon sigma(C6H5NO)270 nm=3.82×10-17 cm2 molecule-1 the authors derive an absorption cross-section for phenyl radicals at 250 nm, sigma(C6H5)250 nm=(2.75±0.58)×10-17 cm2 molecule-1.
