Chem., 100 (14), 5729-5736, (1996); DOI: 10.1021/jp951588c Data: table, diagram Energy/Wavelength range: 250 - 350 nm Resolution: Temperature: 298 K Temperature dependence: no Pressure/Concentration: Phase: gas pH: Comments: The ultraviolet absorption spectra of HO-C6H6 and H-C6H6 have been recorded in the range 250-350 nm with a maximum value of sigma(HO-C6H6) = (4.6 ± 0.7) x 10-18 cm2 molecule-1 observed at 280 nm and at 308.3 nm sigma(HO-C6H6) = (9.2 ± 2) x 10-18 cm2 molecule-1. Thus, although the low-resolution spectrum of HO-C6H6 shown in Figure 3 of the paper (recorded with a spectral resolution of 0.8 nm and with a spacing of 2 nm between adjacent points) does not show any significant fine structure, it seems likely that a high-resolution spectrum may exhibit a dense vibronic structure at wavelengths above 300 nm.
