Comments: The absorption spectra of neutral pentacene (C22H14) and its radical cation (C22H14+) and anion (C22H14-)
isolated in solid Ne, Ar, and Kr have been measured from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared.
The electronic spectrum of neutral pentacene isolated in rare gas matrices (Ne, Ar, and Kr) exhibits 3 band systems in 
the 250-1000 nm spectral region. The first excited electronic state band origin was found at 542.7 nm.
