Bally Title: Electronic Absorption Spectra of Neutral Pentacene (C22H14) and Its Positive and Negative Ions in Ne, Ar, and Kr Matrices Journal/Source: J. Phys. Chem. A, 104, 7484-7491, (2000) Data: (diagram, table, disk): diagram, table Wavelength/Energy range: 250 - 1000 nm Resolution: Temperature: Temperature dependence: Pressure: Comments: The absorption spectra of neutral pentacene (C22H14) and its radical cation (C22H14+) and anion (C22H14-) isolated in solid Ne, Ar, and Kr have been measured from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared. The electronic spectrum of neutral pentacene isolated in rare gas matrices (Ne, Ar, and Kr) exhibits 3 band systems in the 250-1000 nm spectral region. The first excited electronic state band origin was found at 542.7 nm. Author to whom correspondence should be addressed: (e-mail address):
