Comments: The ultraviolet absorption spectra in solution of several organometallic compounds of Group IV elements of the general type R6M2, have been 
recorded. An absorption band centred at about 230 nm is shown.
lambda(max) = 230.0 nm (epsilon = 4900; oscillator strength = 0.0988).
