Scharping, C. Zetzsch, H.A. Dessouki Title: The uv absorption spectra of the trichlorobenzenes and the higher chlorinated benzenes in the gas phase and in n-hexane solution Journal/Source: J. Mol. Spectroscopy, 123 (2), 382-391, (1987); https://doi.org/10.1016/0022-2852(87)90286-4 Data: table, diagram Energy/Wavelength range: 33000 - 60000 cm-1 (~ 166 - 303 nm) Resolution: Temperature: 298 K Temperature dependence: no Pressure/Concentration: Phase: gas, n-hexane solution Comments: Absolute absorption cross sections are determined for the three isomeric trichlorobenzenes in the gas phase in the region from 33000 to 60000 cm-1, and relative absorption cross sections of the tetrachlorobenzenes, pentachlorobenzene, and hexachlorobenzene are presented in the region from 40000 to 60000 cm-1. At 47330 cm-1 the absorption cross sections for C6H5Cl is sigma(max) = 2.60 x 10^-17 cm2 and at 54060 sigma(max) = 1.82 x 10^-16 cm2.
