Comments: UV-vis spectra of NaNO2 dissolved in aqueous solution (concentration range, 0.02-0.06 M) were recorded. The
nitrite ion displays three distinct regions of absorption: two weak, broad bands with maxima at 354 and 290 nm and one
very strong band with a maximum below 250 nm.
